Traineeship details

The fundamental role of a Steward is to ensure all patrons have a safe and enjoyable experience. Events and Stewarding staff are often the first and last people visitors will meet at an event. Therefore the role of a Steward is primarily customer facing and includes, but is not limited to:

  • Providing the ultimate customer care experience
  • Checking Tickets
  • Dealing with patron’s queries and questions
  • Crowd monitoring
  • Helping people to their seats and providing general directions

Hospitality, car parking and other general stewarding duties

Training to be provided

The training to be provided on the traineeship programme be the following:

Functional Skills in both maths and English if required
Employability Skills including Customer Service, Health & Safety, First Aid Training, Fire Safety, Counter Terrorism and Personal Safety

Level 2 in Spectator Safety which will prepare you for stewarding activities, identify and deal with physical hazards, know how to prepare for stewarding activities, how to identify and deal with physical hazards, how to search the venue for suspect items, control the entry and exit of people at events, provide people with information and help them with other problems and how to search people for unauthorised items.

This traineeship is available in three locations : 

  • Twickenham
  • the new Tottenham Hotspur 
  • Dreamland, Margate
