Southend United Community Trust

The Southend United Community & Educational Trust (SUCET) was set up to encourage more local people especially children to play football and support their local football team. In addition the objective was to develop better links between the local communities and Southend United Football Club itself. SUCET became a registered charity in 2004 with a board of trustees. This enables the Trust to be financially independent of Southend United Football Club and allow us to attract funding which other associations cannot access. We are proud and privileged to be associated with the game of football. SUCET gained national recognition in 2010 & 2011 by fending off competition from every other Football League club to become the Community Club of the Year for two years running. We also won the Contribution to Community Sport award at the 2011 Southend Business Awards.

The aim of Southend United Community & Educational Trust is:

To get more Southend people and communities active by providing good quality and inclusive football and sport provisions that improve health and well-being, education and training, reduce crime and antisocial behaviour, promote community cohesion and shared common values.
