Business Administration Advanced Apprenticeship

What is the course about?

This qualification is a competence based qualification. It is aimed at people who already have some experience of office-based skills and wish to progress and possibly specialise in business and administration functions or maybe preparing for a line management role. Learners can choose from a bank of optional units which show their ability to negotiate, supervise, manage and contribute to the running of an office. On completion, learners can progress to a Level 4 higher qualification.

Learners will have a range of different units to study which will complement their work based learning, such as:

Unit       301         Communicate in a business environment
Unit       318         Principals of business communication & information
Unit       332         Promote equality, diversity and inclusion in the workplace

Who could take this qualification?

Level 3 is ideal if you have some knowledge and experience of administration systems, you want to develop your skills to implement and monitor administrative procedures and systems, perhaps to move into a management role.

Learner entry requirements

  • Be at least 16 years of age to attend the programme of training
  • Level 2 diploma in an appropriate subject at Distinction/Merit with GCSEs in English and maths at a minimum of grade C
  • 5 GCSEs (A*-C) or equivalent, including English and maths at minimum of grade C 

Learners without a C in math or English will be required to undertake Functional Skills as part of this programme.

How is the course assessed?

The majority of the course is assessed internally through assignments complete over the first and second years. These might be work based projects or written research assignments.
